what if dynamic privacy actually worked?
what if a whole bunch of vendors would respect and support Facebook's dynamic privacy mechanism?
    would Google support that?

Nice work guys - I'd love to see who you have on in the future. Wish I was at SuperNova but I was overseas at the time - would have been great to fire up that panel.

That is for sure! How about the morning of your 500th episode party?
  • Nicki Brøchner · 1 year ago
Yes the title of the show got to me ;) - and even though I am sitting here left back with the idea that you didn't really get all that you could get out of the show, I will be keeping an eye out for it. I believe that there are potential in this show. Now just promise me one thing, don't go all "Open is the best in the world since sliced bread" because it is important that this is done right and that we all are extremely critical since there are many ways that this can go horrible wrong. As I have talked about at my blog. Now when that is sad keep up the work, and I will be added your show to my Miro ;D

Thanks, Nicki. I agree that we can and should step it up a notch, particularly in pointing out things that aren't quite right. We appreciate the feedback!

John, very interesting. I learned a lot. I am not a "techie" but I could grasp the inherent issues between Google and Facebook. I use both sites and so it was interesting to me. Very good.

Great episode, guys. I think you've hit a good balance between technical and social/business issues around FB/Google, at least for someone already familiar with the basic issues.
  • Howard Greenstein · 1 year ago
oh, and I think you need me as a guest too. Along with GaryV, of course. East Coast represent.

Nice episode. And viddler seems like a cool video hosting service, because you can create those little chapter markers. Remix baby!

    Men,

I got to see your premier video as a result of receiving an email from an information broker in Canada who added me to his plaxo account or whatever. I am familiar with MySpace having two tweenies so I Googled "Plaxo" and kept on clicking looking for an in-depth explanation.... I think what you guys are doing will help many generations. I am a 39 yr.old female, used Prodigy when I first bought an AST Premium Exec in 1991 while stationed at Los Angeles Air Station in El Segundo. I learned to use WANG computers in 1986 as a purchasing agent. I'm online every single day and want to utilize the web better so your educational bits should help! I will want to see each episode so if one of you could email me and teach me how to use "feeds" so I would, I'd appreciate it. Enjoy your virtual voyage!!!

    Beth,

Thanks for the kind words. Our first episode will likely air July 11. We're working on getting everything together.

I really appreciated you sharing your story here. By the way, I, too worked on WANG computers in the 1986 time frame, while I was working at Boston University. It seems so long ago!
